Craven Pinot Gris (MARFA)
South African Skin Contact White, Pinot Gris isn't exactly an abundant grape planted in Stellenbosch, but when planted, it is very special. Although it would appear as a 'white grape' it is in fact a lovely coppery/dark rose skinned grape. With this being the case, the winemakers choose not to waste that color, so the wine is fermented on the skins. Fruit is hand-picked, de-stemmed and then treated like a red wine.
